As we head into midsummer, we have had plenty of awesome events. Though school may be out, there were still chances for top New England talent to show out at major tournaments, such as the NHSCA National Duals, the New England Freestyle Duals, and of course, the Revolution Wrestling Festival.

We get into these new rankings at 106lbs and immediately see two freshmen land in the top three. No. 1 John Woodall (Franklin, MA), a freshman who is a mutli-time NHSCA All-American, occupies the top spot; following him at No. 2 is 2024 New England placer Kylan Berry (Marshwood, ME). No. 3 Scott Cole (Scituate, RI) is another freshman that will be looking to make some noise in the high school scene.

2024 New England champion No. 1 Cole Lemovitz (Ponaganset, RI) holds on to the top spot. No. 3 Logan Costello (Ashland, MA) is a big riser after he beat No. 6 Antoine Jackman (Greater Lowell, MA) at the Revolution Duals.

No. 5 Nathan Morales (Andover, MA) is an incoming freshman and made his presence known when he also took out Jackman. No. 8 Jayden Mendes (North Attleborough, MA) joins the rankings after calculating in a missed win from last season over No. 2 Derek Marcolini (Milford, MA). Marcolini leads the series 2-1.

If everyone stays put, 120lbs is BY FAR the most stacked weight class. SEVEN New England placers feature in the top eight, and the odd one out is a George Bossi Tournament runner-up who was injured during the postseason.

No. 1 Peter Rincan (Billerica, MA) has said he is dropping down to this weight class, dethroning 2024 New England finalist and now-No. 2 Nick Desisto (Tewksbury, MA). Other 2024 placers include No. 3 Mike Morris (Haverhill, MA), No. 4 Isaiah McDaniel (Middletown, CT), No. 5 Robby Newton (Scituate, RI), No. 6 Apollo Bellini (Ponaganset, RI), and No. 8 Chase Kastner (Southington, CT).

No. 7 Jack Gedney lost a 3-0 decision to Rincan in the 2023 Bossi finals before getting a concussion prior to the 2024 postseason.

In a weight class that has always been anything but simple, 132 has some changes. The biggest mover is No. 4 Lance Bordeleau (Pinkerton Academy, NH). The Granite State grappler beat No. 1 Yandel Morales (Andover, MA) in a FREESTYLE match earlier this summer. In folkstyle, he also beat 2024 Newton South (MA) graduate and Top 15 Prep class of 2025 wrestler Dylan Kadish (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA), along with No. 6 Lucas Judd (Lyman Memorial, CT).

No. 3 Cristian Pote (Danbury, CT) moves up a spot (and a weight class), and No. 18 Logan Martins (Johnston, RI) has been recently wrestling at this weight, as well.

The top two sees no change but you’ve got some movement below them. 2024 New England third place finisher, No. 3 Jake Maddox (Newtown, CT), should move up to this weight class, and while No. 4 Brent Von-Magnus (Bridgewater-Raynham, MA) has been wrestling at 144lbs this offseason, he has told The Schwartz Report he plans on moving up come the high school season.

No. 6 Evan Schibi (GIlbert/Torrington, CT) could be a top threat. He’s one of several wrestlers who have been making noise this offseason: No. 13 Tyler Nevia (Trumbull, CT) won a bronze medal for Brazil at the 17u Pan-American Championships, and No. 15 Adrian Guzman (Ashland, MA) took out No. 18 Riley Storozuk (Notre Dame-West Haven, CT), a talented incoming freshman, in the finals of the Revolution Wrestling Festival.
