In what could be the biggest upset of the year, No. 1 Brent Von-Magnus (Bridgewater-Raynham, MA) beat 2x New England Champion No. 2 Sidney Tildsley (Shawsheen Tech, MA) 10-7 in a dual meet. To differentiate between the in-season rankings and P4P and class rankings that evaluate a whole career, Von-Magnus takes the top spot here this season, but Tildsley’s resume keeps him as one of the faces of New England wrestling. These two are surely going to meet again. Von-Magnus also bested No. 4 Emmett Logan (Lowell, MA) 8-0.
No. 7 Kaden Dustin (Noble, ME) became just the second Noble wrestler to earn a podium spot at the Eastern States Classic. No. 18 Daniel Sullivan (Framingham, MA) previously ranked at 132lbs has been competing lately at 138lbs. Sullivan took a loss to No. 17 Yandel Fransisco-Vilchez (Central, RI) in the semi-finals of the Bruce Rich Invitational. It was No. 9 Ben White (South Kingstown, RI) that won the event, defeatingFransisco-Vilchez 20-12 in the finals. White is doing what all wrestlers should do and has opted to attend some different events from his school’s listed schedule as he searches for the best competition.
